Have you ever heard of the book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman? He says that there are five different ways that we communicate, and we each have a preferred “love language.” If you know what your partner or child or friend’s love language is, then you’ll be able to communicate with them more effectively (it’s not just for romantic love.)

So, for example, some people prefer communication to be demonstrated rather than expressed in words, so things like cooking dinner, or helping with cleaning, or buying flowers. On the other hand, other people like love to be expressed in quality time and words of affirmation.
