============================

Have you ever heard of the book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman? He says that there are five different ways that we communicate, and we each have a preferred “love language.” If you know what your partner or child or friend’s love language is, then you’ll be able to communicate with them more effectively (it’s not just for romantic love.)

So, for example, some people prefer communication to be demonstrated rather than expressed in words, so things like cooking dinner, or helping with cleaning, or buying flowers. On the other hand, other people like love to be expressed in quality time and words of affirmation.

At the beginning of the year, my youngest son was sad a lot, so I asked him how we could demonstrate that we loved him, so he wouldn’t be sad, and he said, “please give me a hug whenever you see me!” OK, no problem! I can do that very easily. <3 Have you ever thought about how you like love and friendship to be demonstrated?

Bye,

Chris
