One of my all-time favorite books that I bought for my kids is “The Gift of Nothing” book. It is such a lovely story! What do you give your friend for their birthday, when they already have everything? Nothing! The perfect gift: nothing.

It’s the perfect book for Christmas time, too, because it reminds my kids (and me!!) that gifts and “stuff” are not as important as spending quality time together.

It’s a very simple – but profound – book. It’s also available in Japanese, if you’re looking for a gift for someone! The Japanese title is おくりものはナンニモナイ but of course, I recommend getting the English version.
