============================

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that is related to the changes in the seasons. It starts and ends at the same time each year. For most people, it starts in autumn, and continues through winter. If you are suffering from SAD, you might feel depressed and moody, and have no energy.

In the past, this Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) used to be thought of as just the “winter blues”, and most people felt like they didn’t need to or shouldn’t go to the doctor. However, now that it is more commonly known, more people go to the doctor for help. Medication can help, there is also something known as light therapy, which helps by mimicking the natural outdoor light.

Is SAD common in Japan?
