Of course, you already know this word and I’m sure you often use it. 🙂 So let’s take a quick look at some grammar rules about how to use “often”.
Put “often” in front of the verb, unless the verb is “be”.
We often get cold winters here.
We were often hungry.
Put “often” after the verb if it is an auxiliary verb.
She is often working late at the office.
He has often mentioned his ideas to his boss.
You can also use “often” when many people do something just once.
People often ask me why I quit my job. (In other words many people ask her this question one time.)
Babies often like mashed pumpkin as their first food.
