☆ determine 決心する
============================
Today’s word has a few different usages, but this one today is the formal use. If you determine to do something, you make a firm decision to do it. For example:
He determined to rescue the child that had fallen in the river.
I determined that I would ask him as soon as I saw him.
She determined to trust him even though she knew about his past.
Other words that are less formal are: decide, make up one’s mind, resolve. You can use “determine” of course, but if it is hard to remember, choose something easier, such as “decide.”
Bye,
