require 求める

☆ require 求める
============================
Require is a formal word, and you do not use it in every day conversation. Instead, you would use “need” or “want.” For example, in a formal situation you might say, “Is there anything you require?” however, in a relaxed informal situation, you would say, “Is there anything you need/want?”
Another example, you wouldn’t say, “I require a holiday!” Instead you would say, “I need/want a holiday!” You would use require if you were talking to your boss, for example, “When you do you require the report finished?” You could also say, “When do you need/want the report finished?” and it would be fine, just a little less formal.
