☆ realize 気づく
============================
When you “realize something” it means that you become aware of a fact or understand that fact. For example, “I realized that I couldn’t continue working with a boss that I didn’t respect.” Or “People don’t realize how serious the recession is.”
It’s often used when you suddenly understand something. For example, “He realized his mistake at once.” So it is often used with the following words: suddenly, at once, immediately, as soon as. It can also be used if you need to apologize. By saying, “Sorry, I didn’t realize.” you can apologize for something you did without thinking or understanding what the situation was. A funny example, “You’re standing on my foot!!” and you reply, “Sorry! I didn’t realize.”
