☆ valuable 高価な
============================
In English, valuable can mean that something costs a lot of money, but it can also mean that it is important to you. The first meaning is the same for everyone. Of course, what you think is “a lot of money” might be more or less than my definition of “a lot of money,” however our basic idea of “valuable” is the same.
However, when we talk about “valuable” in the sense of something that is important to you, then everyone’s choice of what is “valuable” will be different. For example, I have every edition of the Eigo Techo from 2007 to 2016 – all ten years, these are so valuable to me, even though they are now unusable, and not that expensive! But for me, they are a valuable sign of all of you and your support of our diary each year. So, thank you! I hope the Eigo Techo diaries are valuable to you too.
Bye,
Chris
