☆ describe 表現する
============================
When you describe something – a person, object, event, or situation – you say what they are like or what happened. Here are a couple of rules for using the verb, “describe.”
With a direct object – simply use “describe” to say what something is like.
Can you describe the man you saw?
When you have a direct object and an indirect object, the direct object usually comes first.
My father described his childhood to me.
She described the man to the detective.
With a “wh”-clause.
The man described what he had seen.
With a “wh”-clause and an indirect object, the indirect object goes first.
I can’t describe to you what it was like.
He described to me what he had seen.
One final thing to remember, which can you see from the examples, is that when you use describe with an indirect object, you must put “to” in front of the indirect object.
I can’t describe you what it was like. NG
I can’t describe to you what it was like. OK
Bye,
