☆ get carried away 調子に乗る
============================
If you get carried away by something, you are so eager or excited by it that you do something foolish, or without thinking. Despite the Japanese translation, today’s word has a kind of negative nuance because it implies that you have lost control. Another way to say the same thing is to say that you “get overexcited” or “go too far” both of which also have the negative nuance. Here are some example sentences:
Calm down, don’t get carried away!
Here is some money to spend, but don’t get carried away.
The concert was so amazing I got completely carried away and cried!
I got carried away at the auction and ended up paying too much.
Bye,
Chris
