This week we are looking at nouns. I’m sure you already know “opinion” so let’s do one of my favorite things, which is to look for great quotes using the word of the day. Actually, there are a lot of funny quotes (not by famous people though) talking about opinions. Here are some funny ones that I know:
“The difference between pizza and your opinion is that I asked for pizza.” – this is what you say to someone when they gave you their opinion about you even though you didn’t ask them to.
“Remember when I asked for your opinion? Yeah, me neither.” – This type of quote is becoming more and more popular. The style is, “Remember when XXX? Yeah, me neither.” You use it when you want to be sarcastic and say that although something happened (in this case, the person gave you their opinion) you didn’t want it to happen, or it never happened.
“Your opinions are always welcome. However, the deadline for complaints was last week.” – I guess you might see this kind of sign in an office, the HR department. Of course it is a joke, but it indicates that most people tend to make their opinion sound like a complaint.
