☆ challenge 課題
============================
Today’s word is one that many students of mine get confused with. In Japanese it is often used as a verb; チャレンジする。 In English, “challenge” is only used as a verb in two situations: when you challenge someone or something (such as an idea). When you do this, you are questioning the truth or authority of that person or thing. For example:
I challenged him to prove his theory.
He challenged me to a chess competition.
Today’s word however, is a noun, and similar in meaning to test, problem, trial, or agenda.
There are many challenges ahead of us.
He faced numerous challenges as a child.
Finishing this project is going to be a real challenge.
Bye,
Chris
