This month’s topic is “I choose us”. Having something in common with the people you choose to have in your life is very important, right? Do you have different things in common with different people? How does it differ depending on the person? For example if you are married or in a relationship, you might have many things in common with your partner. However, at your work, you might only have one or two things in common with your work colleagues.
For example, when I was working at an Eikaiwa school in Japan, with some of my co-workers we had nothing in common! With others the only thing we had in common was the country we grew up in. And then with other coworkers (who became my good friends) we had a lot of things in common; sense of humor, music tastes, hobbies and so on. Do you think it’s important to have something in common with the people you work with?
