☆ persistence  強いこだわり
============================
I’ve just finished reading an interesting book about changing our habits and behaviors. The book is Changeology by Dr. John Norcross and in it, he describes a 5-step process for change. Step 5 is Persistence, and this is where we maintain the changes we have made. He claims that changing a behavior or habit needs around 90 days. From about day 75 onward we have generally got the new habit ingrained but we still need persistence.
Some ways we can increase our persistence is to track our progress. We can find helpful friends or people that can help us stay on track. Rewarding our progress helps too. One big thing for persistence is controlling your environment. For example, if you have the goal of studying English every night when you get home, you will need a lot of persistence and willpower to do that if the first thing you do is turn on the TV.
Instead, help increase your persistence by hiding the TV remote control, or going straight to your study desk and starting to study before anything is able to distract you. Is there anything you can do to control or alter your environment so that it helps increase your persistence with reaching a goal?
Bye,
Chris
