In English, the quote “slow and steady wins the race” from Aesop’s fables is very famous, reminding us not to rush because “haste makes waste” (another quote with a similar warning, by Benjamin Franklin.) Finding quotes that use a certain word is a good way to really grasp the meaning and usage of the word – and that helps us become more quick-witted too. 🙂
Here are some other quotes using the word “steady”:
“Success is steady progress toward one’s personal goals.” Jim Rohn
“A friendship like love is warm; a love like friendship is steady.” Thomas More
This one is a little long, but I like it, and think it relates to English learning too, by Alexander Graham Bell: “The most successful men in the end are those whose success is the result of steady accretion. It is the man who carefully advances step by step, with his mind becoming wider and wider – and progressively better able to grasp any theme or situation -”
Do you know any quotes using “steady”?
