What is your ambition regarding your English? Is your ambition to get over 900 in TOEIC? Or is your ambition to be able to speak confidently with foreigners? Or maybe your ambition is to live in another country. Since returning to live in Australia, I’ve actually met quite a few Japanese people living here in Adelaide, whose ambition was to live abroad.
Some of these Japanese people are married to Australia men who are from Adelaide, so they didn’t actually choose to live in Adelaide. However, some of them are living in Adelaide with their Japanese spouse (in other words, not an international couple, but a Japanese couple) because of work, or because they chose to immigrate here. One of my friends, Mayuko, has been living here for 8 years with her Japanese husband and their 2 year old son. Their ambition is to live here all their lives. Interesting! I’m always fascinated by other people’s ambitions and life stories. So, tell me, what’s your ambition?
