Something that is rewarding gives you satisfaction or some kind of benefit. For example, we often talk about careers using the word “rewarding.” For example:
His job is very financially rewarding. (He earns a great salary.)
Her career is not so well paid, but it is emotionally rewarding. (She might work for an NPO or work in a job that helps others but doesn’t pay so well.)
Of course, the best situation would be to find a career that is both “financially and emotionally rewarding.” Right?! We don’t need to stick with a job that is just “financially rewarding” or just “emotionally rewarding.” We all deserve both, I think. 🙂
