Someone who is demonstrative shows affection freely and openly. Are you demonstrative? Do you think Japanese people in general are demonstrative or more reserved?
When I first lived in Japan, I met a lot of American people who were very demonstrative and always gave me a hug when we met. It was strange for me, because to be honest, I’m more reserved than demonstrative. However, after a while I got used to it, and now hugging people when I see them is natural for me… well, almost natural! I’m still learning to be more demonstrative.
How about you? Would you like to be more demonstrative? Do you think it is a good character trait or one that is not really needed?
