☆ adept 上手な
Sometimes you’ll come across a word in the Eigo Techo that has a Japanese word that you know, but is not the usual translation that you know. For example, today’s word, if you look at the Japanese, you might expect it to be translated at “good”. Of course this translation is fine, but there are often many different ways to translate some words.
In that case, it’s a good idea to learn those other words too, if you can. A Mind Map would be a great way to record these words. For example, in the middle of the page, you could have the Japanese word 上手な and then on the branches you could have the different possible translations: adept, clever, skillful, able, expert, skilled, accomplished. And if you really wanted to increase your learning you could also add a sentence showing the usage! If you did this, you would become very adept at English!
