Do you think we are facing uncertain times? I just finished reading
a book called, “Extreme Productivity” and he said that we are always
facing uncertain situations. Because everything is always changing, it
is often unrealistic to have a long-term goal for future. Of course, it’s OK
to have this kind of big goal, but because the future is uncertain, instead
it’s better to be continually thinking and making decisions about our
future. If we do this, then we can adapt and make the best of
uncertain situations.

He has a good question to ask yourself whenever you are making a
decision about something for your future: What can I do next that will
maximize my options in the future?

I like this question, as it gives us something positive to think about when
we are facing uncertain times.

我々は今、不確実な時代に生きていると思いますか？
私は最近、“Extreme Productivity”という本を読みました。
そこで著者は、我々は“常に”不確実な時を過ごしていると述べていました。
全てのものは常に変化をしていて、未来に向けた長期的なゴールは非現実的だということです。
当然、このような大きな目標を持つのも良いですが、未来は不確実ですから、将来のことを絶えず考え、決断をしていくことが大事です。
こうすることで不確実な状況でも適応し、最大限の力を出せるようになるでしょう。

この本で著者は、自分の将来の決断を下す時に自問出来る良い質問を投げかけています。
“私の未来の可能性を最大限に活かすには、次に何をしたらいいだろう？”

不確実な時代を過ごす私達がポジティブに考えることが出来る、良い質問ですね。
