In Western culture, it used to be that someone who was “wealthy”
was someone who had a lot of money. These days, however, culture is
changing, and a lot of people now believe they are wealthy, even though
they don’t have a lot of money. They are wealthy because they have
good health, a job that they love, and often their job is one that involves
helping others.

How about you? What do you believe describes a wealthy person? Has
the meaning of “wealthy” in Japan changed over the years? In what way?
What little things in your everyday life make you feel wealthy? Mine is a
quiet cup of tea!
