I was thinking about mindsets, and learning. I think that
Japanese people are great at lifelong learning. For example,
most people learn English throughout their lives, right?

But then I wondered if this was the right mindset for English.
For example, Europeans learn English in school, but also they
use English in their school for learning. By the time they graduate
they are fluent in English and usually other languages, too. After
graduating, they are “using” English and so there is no need for
lifelong “learning” of English.

What do you think of this idea?

マインドセットや学習について考えていたのですが、日本人は生涯学習に優れていますよね。
例えば、多くの人が生涯英語を学んでいます。

しかし、これが英語に対する正しいマインドセットでしょうか？
例えば、ヨーロッパでは学校で英語を学ぶ際には、「英語で」英語を勉強します。
卒業する頃には、英語と、大概は他の言語もペラペラになっていることが多いのです。
卒業後は、生涯かけて英語を“学習”するのではなく、英語を“使う”ようになるわけですね。

この考え、どう思いますか？
