I read a book called Raising Boys which says that from birth to
five years old, the mother is the biggest influence, from six to ten or
eleven years old the father is the main influence. And then as they
become teenagers their peers become the biggest influence. Is this
true in Japan too? Do you think the influences are the same for girls?

Who has been the biggest influence in your life so far? Was it
a parent? A teacher? A peer? What was the result of their influence
in your life? For me, my foreign language teacher at high school had the
biggest positive influence. And my English teacher had the biggest
negative influence!!

先日、“Raising Boys”という本を読みましたが、生まれてから5歳までは母親の影響が一番大きくて、6歳から10歳、11歳までは父親の影響が大きいそうです。
その後、ティーネイジャーになってからは、友達や仲間の影響が一番大きいようですね。
日本でも同じでしょうか？
女の子が受ける影響も同じですか？

今のところ、あなたの人生で一番大きく影響している人は誰ですか？
ご両親？先生？それとも友達？
その人があなたの人生にもたらした影響の結果はいかがですか？
私の場合、高校の外国語の先生が一番大きいポジティブな影響でした。
そして、英語の先生が一番大きなネガティブな影響だったのです！
