There are two main ways to use the word “light”. Firstly,
it can be used to mean that something is “not heavy”.
Secondly, it can be used when talking about something
that is “not serious” or “not important”.

Here are some examples of both usages:

In the summer, I like to wear light, loose clothes.
The light spring breeze feels wonderful doesn’t it.
I’m usually a light sleeper. Any noise wakes me up.
I’ve started weight training, but just with light weights!

And

I don’t like reading light novels, I don’t like chick-lit.
Talk to him in a friendly, light manner, and the meeting should
go well.
Be serious!! This is not a light matter!

まずは、ものが重くないという意味の“軽い”、そしてもうひとつは重要でない、シリアスでないという意味の“軽い”です。
