Do people in Japan sometimes have funny surnames?
I have a friend who married a man whose family name
was “Quarrel”, so they became Mr. and Mrs. Quarrel…
at first they didn’t have many fights, and they were happy…
But after 15 years of marriage, they had many quarrels,
and eventually divorced! Sometimes people live up to
their name!!

Now, you might be wondering why I told you this story,
what was the point? The point is, I think you might have
laughed at the irony of this true story… I hope you laughed!
Anyway, laughing or attaching a humorous story to a new
word is a good way to remember it. So my goal was to give
you a nice way to remember this word. Hope it worked!

日本には、面白い名字がありますか？
私の友人で、“Quarrel”氏と結婚し、Mr. & Mrs. Quarrelになった人がいます。
最初の頃はあまりけんかをすることはなく、幸せにしていましたが…15年も経つとたくさんけんかをするようになり、最後には離婚してしまいました。
名前の通りの人生、でしょうか…。
