We often use the word leap in idioms. Here are some popular ones:

Look before you leap – Use this when you want to tell someone to think carefully about what they are going to do before they do it.

Leap of faith – Use this when you do something even though you are not sure if it is right or if it will succeed. (In other words “trust”)

Take a flying leap – Use this when you are annoyed with someone! It’s another way to say this, “go away and don’t come back!”

Leap for joy – To jump or leap around because you are very happy.

A quantum leap – describes a very important improvement or development in something.
