Today’s word is a noun, but these days, because of the changes in
technology and how we communicate, it is often used as a verb by
younger people. For example:

I’ll message you later. (verb)
Send me a message later. (noun)

However, still the most common use of this is when you call someone and
get a receptionist or voice mail service and what do they say… that’s right,
“Would you like to leave a message?”

今日の言葉は名詞ですが、テクノロジーやコミュニケーション手段の変化により、最近の若者は動詞として使うことも多いです。

動詞：I’ll message you later. (後でメッセージするね。)
名詞：Send me a message later. (後でメッセージを送って)

しかしやはり一番よく使うのは、電話をかけて相手が不在の場合、電話を受けた人や、ボイスレコーダーが、そう、こう言いますね。
「メッセージを残されますか？」
