Often when students talk about food in English, they get
confused between something that is “fresh” such as “fresh
fruit”, something that is “raw” such as “raw fish” which is
what is used in sashimi. And lastly, something that is “rare”
such as meat that is not cooked fully.

You can describe food as “fresh food” if it has been picked or produced
recently, and has not been preserved, for example, by being frozen or tinned.
Perfect examples are: fresh fruit, and fresh fish.

英語で食べ物の話をする時に、よく「fresh」と「raw」を混同してしまう人がいます。
新鮮な果物の“Fresh fruits”や、生の刺身の“raw fish”ですね。
さらに中まで火を通さないという「rare」もあります。

新鮮と言えるのは、摘みたてや生産したてで、冷凍や缶詰にするなど保存加工されていない食べ物を指します。
新鮮な果物、新鮮な魚介などが良い例と言えるでしょう。
