Let’s talk about grammar today! Here are the ways that you can use the
word “opportunity”. You can talk about an/the “opportunity for something” or
an/the “opportunity to do” something. Here are some examples:

This is an opportunity for a new start.
The opportunity for negotiation should not be ignored.
My job gives me the opportunity to become better.
I wish I had an opportunity to make more money!

You can also say, an/the “opportunity for doing” something or the
“opportunity of doing” something (in the case of “of doing” you cannot
use “an”). Some examples:

It was an excellent opportunity for learning new skills.
This gave me the opportunity of developing my talent.

And if you want to talk in the negative, we say, “there is no opportunity
to do something”.

I was given no opportunity to meet with the manager.

You cannot use “no opportunity of doing”, only “do”.

(これは、私の才能を開発する機会を与えてくれた)

そして否定形で使う場合は、“there is no opportunity to do～”となります。

I was given no opportunity to meet with the manager.
(私はマネージャーと会うチャンスを与えられなかった)

否定形では、“no opportunity of doing”という使い方は
しませんのでご注意を。
