Today’s word is often used to describe someone who is a
“shining example” of something. Or to describe something that
has been a great success.

Last November there was a news report on CNN about “Solar Landfill
Provides a Shining Example.” The landfill area is not able to used for
anything really, so as a test, they put huge solar panels on the land
and are now generating electricity from the land!　You can see a picture

It seems like the idea of solar panels on unusable landfill areas is
a shining success!

今日の言葉は、何か輝かしいことをした人や、大成功を収めたことに対して使いますね。

去年の11月に、CNNで「ソーラー・埋め立て地の模範例」というニュースを見ました。
埋め立て地は、実際には使いようがなかったので、試験的に巨大なソーラーパネルを設置し、そして今となってはそこで発電が可能となったということです。
