Let’s continue with thinking about this month’s topic,
“This is who I am”… if you were introducing yourself,
what things would you “need” the other person to know
about you? For example, you need someone to know
your name, right? Do you need them to know your
full name, or just your first name or last name?

Do you need that person to know what you do? Whether
you’re married, or have children? It depends on the situation,
right? So, when you’re thinking about your self-introduction
in English, (or Japanese!) think about the situation, and what
you “need” the other person to know – and hopefully remember –
about you.

あなたが自己紹介をするとしたら、相手にはあなたのどういったことを知らせる「need(必要とする)」があるでしょうか？
例えば、名前は当然ですよね？
では、その場合フルネームですか？
それとも名字だけ、下の名前だけ？

あなたの仕事も知らせるべきでしょうか？
既婚者か、子どもがいるか、などということは？
もちろん、状況によりますよね。

英語で(日本語でも！) 自己紹介を考える場合には、状況に応じて相手に何を知らせるべきか、そして覚えておいてもらいたいか、ということを考えましょう。
