☆ pursue　追求する

“Pursue” is actually a formal word, and not used as often as these
alternatives: follow, chase, aim for, desire, seek, strive for, work towards.

However it is often used in self-help books, when talking about things
we should and should not pursue. For example:

Don’t pursue money.
He is pursuing happiness.
Many foreigners come to Japan to pursue their interest in Anime.
We must pursue ways to solve this problem.
I hope they pursue a peaceful settlement.

「Pursue　(追求する)」はフォーマルな言葉で、あまり普段使う言葉ではありません。
代わりに同じ意味合いのこれらの言葉を使うことが多いでしょう：
「follow　(追う)」、「chase　(追いかける)」、「aim for　(目指して進む)」、「desire　(要求する)」、「seek　(探し求める)」、「strive for　(～を得ようと努力する)」、「work towards　(～を目指して取り組む)」などです。

しかし、この言葉は自己啓発の本の中で、追求すべきこと、追求しない方が良いことなどに関してよく出てくる言葉です。

例：
・Don’t pursue money.
お金を追いかけるな。

・He is pursuing happiness.
彼は幸せを追求している。

・Many foreigners come to Japan to pursue their interest in Amine.
アニメへの興味を追求するために日本に来る外国人はたくさんいる。

・We must pursue ways to solve this problem.
この問題を解決する方法を追求しなくてはならない。

・I hope they pursue a peaceful settlement.
平和的解決に落ち着くと良いけど。
