I often say that “katakana words” are a great way to increase your
vocabulary. Most of them are the same word in English and in
Japanese.

Sometimes the pronunciation is slightly different, though. Like today’s
word, “concert”, the katakana pronunciation has a “sa” sound, whereas
in English, it is more like a “se” sound, which is difficult to write in
katakana.

One good way to check the pronunciation is to use a speaking
