The last few mails, I’ve been talking about ways to describe men.
However, today’s word is often used to describe the popular features
of a woman: long legs, long hair, long eyelashes.

The traditional long black hair of asian women is something that
men all around the world seem to love. In fact, women love this
too – many shampoo comercials use this long, straight black
hairstyle in their commercials.

This was the stereotype I had in my mind when I first came to
Japan, so of course, I was very surprised to see women with
short hair, permed hair, and even dyed blonde hair! Is long
black hair a desired style in Japan for women?

最近のメールでは、男性について説明する手法をお話ししてきました。
でも、今日の単語は女性の特徴について話すときによく使われている単語です。
「long　（長い）」：「long legs　（脚が長い）,「 long hair　（長い髪の毛）」,「 long eyelashes　（まつげが長い）」。

世界中の男性は、アジア女性の長い黒髪が大好きなようです。
実は女性も大好きです。
シャンプーのＣＭでは、長い、ストレートの黒髪をよく使います。

私もそんなステレオタイプなイメージを持っていたので、日本に初めて来て、ショートヘアや、パーマをかけた髪、ブロンドに染めた髪の女性たちを見てびっくりしました！
日本では、長い黒髪は、女性にとってあこがれですか？
