☆ best friend　親友

In western culture, when we’re young, it is common to have
only one best friend. In other words, kids have lots of friends,
but only ONE best friend. Of course, often this “best friend”
changes depending on our feeling that day! Lol.

As you get older, and meet more people, your “best” friend
becomes one of your many friends. I guess we realize that
we can have lots of “best” friends… how about Japanese culture?

Do you have a best friend? How long have you known them?
Where did you meet them? As you get older have you noticed
that you have more good friends, rather than “one” best friend?

西洋文化では、若い時期には一人だけの「best friend（親友）」を持つのが普通です。
つまり「friend （友達）」は沢山いるけれど、”best”は１人だけなのです。
もちろん、この「best friend（親友）」はその日の気分によって違うかもしれません！（笑）

そして、歳をとるといろいろな人と出会い友達も沢山できて、「best」な友達は沢山の友達の中の一人になります。
