☆ bling キラキラしたもの

The word bling (or bling bling) has been in use for about 40 years. However it was made popular in the late 90’s by hip hop rappers.

It then became a “cool” word that everyone used and it was even added to the Webster dictionary in 2006.

The funny thing is that now rappers say the word is no longer cool as too many people use it! So instead they just call their bling “diamonds” (because they are rich enough to have the real thing!)

「bling（bling bling）」という単語は４０年程前から使われています。
しかし、９０年代の後半にヒップホップのラッパー達が使ってポピュラーになりました。

その後、一般の人も使うクールな言葉になり、２００６年にはウェブスター辞典にも載せられました。

面白いことに、あまりに多くの人が使い、もはやクールで無くなったこの言葉をラッパー達は使わなくなったのです！
代わりに彼らは、自分たちのキラキラしたもののことは、ただ “ダイヤモンド”と言っていますね。
(彼らはホンモノのキラキラを持つのに充分なほど、お金持ちですからね)
