☆jot down　メモをとる

When I first came to Japan, I always
carried paper with me and jotted down
any new words that I heard, or kanji that
I saw on the train advertisements. If I
were with a Japanese friend I would ask
them to jot down the word for me if I couldn’t
write it myself.

At the end of the day I would review my
words and transfer them to a vocabulary
book I was creating for myself. It was a
great way to pick up new vocabulary.
Whenever you are listening to or reading
English, if you hear a word that catches
your attention, try jotting it down to help
you remember them.

私が日本に来た頃、紙をいつも持ち歩いて、

耳にした新しい言葉や、電車の中の広告で

目についた新しい漢字のメモをとっていました。

書けない漢字がある時は、日本人の友達と一緒なら

頼んで書いてもらっていました。

そして、一日の終わりに見直して、自分で作った

ボキャブラリーリストに写していました。

これは新しいボキャブラリーを獲得するとても良い方法です。
