Welcome to the first mini-lesson for the 2011 Eigo Techo.
This month’s topic is all about English. You and English.
How much English do you understand? Unfortunately
when I talk with people learning English is Japan,
99% of people tell me about what they DON’T understand.
For example

I don’t understand English grammar.

I don’t have a lot of vocabulary.

I need to learn more words.

I don’t understand English.

and so on…

Did you notice how negative those sentences all are?
It might feel strange, but how about focusing on what
you DO understand? It’s the very first mini-lesson for
the 2011 planner, so let’s start out with a positive focus!
Think about your own English – what do you understand?
When is English fun and easy for you?
The best way to improve is your English is to create fun
and interesting English experiences for yourself as often
as possible.
