☆ seldom めったに~ない
============================
If something seldom happens, then it happens only occasionally. Seldom is the opposite of “often.” Other words that you could use are rarely, hardly ever, not often. In fact, when speaking English, we seldom use “seldom” we usually use “hardly ever.” In other words, “seldom” is more for written English and “hardly ever” is more for conversational English.
It seldom rains here. (in a novel)
It hardly ever rains here. (in a conversation)
She seldom leaves the house. (novel, written English)
She hardly ever leaves the house. (conversational English)
Can you use seldom or hardly ever in a sentence?
Bye,
Chris
