If you resist something, you refuse to accept it and try to prevent it. So, what is the one thing that people resist most? Can you guess? I’m not sure what the “real” answer is, but I would say that the thing people resist most is “change.” What do you think? Do you agree with my guess, or do you have another idea?
Here are some example sentences (not all of them are to do with resisting change, though.)
The prime minister said he will resist changes to the immigration laws.
The neighbors resisted our suggestions about putting up a new fence.
I can’t resist replying to a new message immediately!
What can’t you resist doing?
