Oh my goodness, last month I read an amazing book call “Tiny Beautiful Things” by Cheryl Strayed. Have you heard of it? This book, “Tiny Beautiful Things” is a collection of her advice letters. She used to write an advice column on the Internet, called, Dear Sugar.
People would write to her with big (and small) life problems, and basically they would always ask, “How would you handle this?” Or “How should I handle this situation?” Do you have “advice columns” in Japan? Where people write in (usually anonymously) and ask the columnist for advice about how to handle their particular problem? These kinds of advice columns are quite common in western culture, and you can find them in magazines and on the Internet.
This book though, was so amazing, she is a great writer and has a lot of life experience, so she always had a lot of advice on how to handle life’s problems, but most of all, she had compassion and understanding for all of the people who wrote to her. A great book – if you’re up for a challenge in reading an English book, I’d recommend it!
Bye,
Chris
