☆ rhythm リズム
You might think that “rhythm” is a word we only use when talking about music, but in fact it is used quite often. Of course the main use is to describe a regular series of sounds or movements, for example the rhythms of jazz. However you can also use it to describe things like breathing, heart beats, the ocean, even painting. Here are some examples:
She focused on the steady, slow rhythm of his heartbeat.
The rhythm and scent of the ocean made her feel at home.
The rhythm of his brush strokes felt good as he painted.
The baby’s chest rose and fell with the rhythm of sleep.
The 5-7-5 syllable rhythm in Japanese haiku is well known around the world.
