Someone who is conservative or has conservative ideas is unwilling to accept changes or new ideas. You might also call them a traditionalist or an informal word we sometimes use is “stick-in-the-mud”. That is easy to imagine right? If someone is stuck in mud, they are not moving! So if their way of thinking is stuck in the mud, they are not open to new ideas, in other words, conservative.
The quote in the Eigo Techo this week is by Norman Vincent Peale, “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” So, if you have conservative thoughts, you’ll encounter a conservative world, would you agree?
