☆ adore  敬愛する
============================
When you adore someone, you feel great love and admiration for them. “I adore him” is a little more formal that just saying “I love and admire him”. But interestingly, if you talk about adoring something, it means that you like it very much and it is usually used in an informal situation.
So for example, “She adored her parents” is more formal than just “she loved her parents”. And, “She adored reading and going to the theater” is more informal than “She loved reading and going to the theater.” It seems strange that this is the case, but basically, it is because of the difference between adoring “someone” and adoring “something.”
