☆ nerve 度胸
============================
“Nerve” has a few different meanings, today’s word means “courage” or “guts”, and we talk about working up the never to do something that is difficult or dangerous. It could be something as simple as talking to a stranger at a party; “I had a glass of wine to work up enough nerve to talk to him!” Or you might need all your nerve in order to speak English!
Today’s word is a noun, but it can be used as part of a phrasal verb for example, “lose your nerve”. If you lose your nerve you suddenly panic and become too afraid to do what you were about to do. So you might lose your nerve just as you’re about to talk to the stranger, or just as your about to speak English in your class. If you are someone that loses their nerve often, what can you do to avoid this? Practicing in advance can help you keep your nerve. What else could help?
