“-able” is a suffix which combines with verbs to form adjectives. Adjectives formed in this way describe someone or something that can have that verb done to them. For example, something that can be admired is admirable. Something that is avoidable can be avoided.
An admirable quality or action is one that can be or deserves to be praised and admired.
He was an admirable boss.
She was lucky to be surrounded by admirable friends.
She made an admirable decision.
He showed admirable dedication to his work as a doctor.
