☆ effortless  努力を要しない
============================
I often run with my neighbor, and although she has lost a lot of weight she is still a lot bigger than me. She always says that my running looks effortless. I think that’s kind of funny, because in fact, when we run fast, it looks effortless for her, but I am always breathing so hard I wonder if I’m going to survive!!! Of course, when I tell her that actually *she* also looks like running is effortless, she laughs and tells me that it is definitely NOT effortless. Ha ha.
Do you have a friend who does something that seems effortless? Or do people tell you that something you do looks effortless? When I was teaching English, I noticed a difference between students: some students really spoke English in an effortless way. They didn’t get stressed or worried about what words they were using or if they were making mistakes. I guess because they weren’t worried their English seemed smooth and effortless.
When you speak English does it feel effortless? If not, what can you do to make it feel more effortless? For example, deep breathing or relaxation techniques before you speak. What else?
Bye,
Chris
