In English, it’s common for words to be spelled differently, but to sound the same. Here are a few:
bear and bare
to, two, and too
mail and male
plain and plane
Do you know any others?
Now, today’s word is the opposite of that – it is spelled the same, but has a different meaning depending on how you pronounce it. Content and content. When we say we are satisfied with things, we say we are “conTENT”. When we are talking about the information of something, such as a book, we are talking about the “CONtent”. Luckily, the meaning is quite different so based on the rest of the sentence or conversation you can easily know which one is correct.
Bye,
