You probably know this word from the more common use of “please and thank you”. However, it is also used when you want to talk about making someone feel happy and satisfied. Have you ever heard it used in this way? Bill Cosby, an American actor said this:
“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.”
This is the perfect example of how to use today’s word “please”!
Another similar quote, though I don’t know who said it is:
“You can’t please everyone, so please yourself!”
Do you spend too much time trying to please other people? I think I do – for example, I want every single one of you reading this mini mail to enjoy every single one of my mails!! I know that’s impossible, there will be days when I can only please some readers and other readers will think, “well that was boring!” or “that was a strange email!” or something like that… but hopefully I can please most of you most of the time. 🙂
